Important notice concerning the outbreak of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)
Currently, HTWK Leipzig provides online teaching only. Exams will be mostly held online. Students will receive further information from the responsible departments and faculties about the exams and in case there are any exceptions.
As of 16 June 2021, University buildings are open again for the public and for students. The library returned to normal operations as well with limited opening hours. Some of the student cafeterias and dining halls (Mensa) are open and offer take-away. The gym will remain closed until further notice.
The hygiene concept was updated on 16 June 2021 and applies until further notice:
- Wearing a mouth-nose-cover in all common areas of the university is mandatory for everyone until at least 30 June 2021 and is highly recommended starting 1 July 2021.
- Please keep a distance of at least 1.5 metres to other people if possible. Furthermore, direct physical contact is to be avoided (i.e. no hand-shaking, no hugging) and personal contact is to be minimized.
- Starting 1 July, the majority of staff members will be present at the university campus again.
According to the regulations issued by the Free State of Saxony, all students and staff who enter Saxony from designated coronavirus risk areas have to register their entry online and go to their apartment immediately to self-quarantine for at least10 days. There are exceptions to the quarantine regulations for persons who are either completely vaccinated or have recovered from an infection with COVID-19. More information is available here (content in German only).
